Treatments
Osteopathic Treatment

I use a mainly hands on approach. This includes a lot of soft tissue massage and gentle stretching techniques.

I believe that Osteopathy can provide effective treatment and relief of back pain and many musculo-skeletal injuries, without the use of surgery, injections or medication. Osteopathy can provide effective relief for many problems in a very natural way. I specialise in acute and chronic pain and rehabilitation. I prescribe useful exercises to do during the day or at the gym.

Did you know that if you have a disc problem, for example, you do not necessarily need surgery? Disc problems can be painful due to injury and inflammation. They are soft tissues that can repair. My treatment can speed up the repair proccess by increasing the blood supply and reducing the inflammation. Inflammation is not always a bad thing. It's our body's natural repair kit. But it is painful and can cause the feeling of stiffness. The way to repair injuries is to have the right treatment, whist trying to balance resting, with strengthening exercises.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

I am a Vodder trained Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) therapist. Our lymphatic system is involved in our immune response. MLD can help boost the immune system. It is also increasingly recommended after Vaser liposuction. Please visit the MLD UK website.

Deep Abdominal Massage

I use abdominal massage for many digestive disorders, such as constipation, bloating, indigestion. It is also very helpful for the relief of menstral problems, including period pain and heavy bleeding. Working on the abdomen increases blood flow and relaxes tight muscles.

Why do Osteopaths use High Velocity Thrust (HVT) or 'cracking' joints?

Some Osteopaths use HVT as a method to 'release' stiffness in the joints, however, I do not automatically use this technique, as research shows that there are other, more effective, long lasting treatments, which I would recommend.
